    Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne (Cantu) Hickel in in March 2007.  Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.  She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991.  Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.  Yvonne is the daughter of the late Charlie Sr. and Guadalupe Adams Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn Moran and Brittany Hickel.

    Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Resthaven Funeral Home’s state-of-the-art facility assures your loved one’s final memory will be personal, memorable and lasting.  Look for future Resthaven Chapels in neighboring Odem and Taft.

Wanda was born September 7, 1939 in Nixon, Texas to Loyal Beasley and Beatrice Floy Baker Pullin. She was a school secretary with Tuloso Midway for 20 years. She will be greatly missed.

Kastner, Albert O.

2014049_1.jpgAlbert 0. Kastner, a lifelong resident and member of First United Methodist Church of Sinton, Texas, passed away on July 13, 2014 at the age of 91.

Albert was born June 8, 1923 in West Sinton, Texas to Albert Otto and Margaret Johnson Kastner. He was a farmer and owner/operator of Kastner Farms. Albert proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII serving at the Naval Depot at Hollandia, New Guinea was a member of the Sinton Masonic Lodge 1012 A.F.&A.M. earning his 50 year service award.  He was also a member of the Al Amin Shrine Temple in Corpus Christi. Albert also served on the Board of Directors at the First State Bank of Mathis and he served on the Board of Directors of the Sinton Grain Elevator and Storage Company.

He was 65.  David was born February 24, 1949 in Rockport, Texas to William “Bill” and Anna Goodman Parr. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. David was a retired Harbor Master employed by the Aransas County Navigation District and owner/operator of Parr Services, his lawn business.
