    Resthaven Funeral Home was established by lifelong Sinton resident Yvonne (Cantu) Hickel in in March 2007.  Yvonne graduated Sinton High School and Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas.  She has worked extensively in the funeral industry since 1991.  Yvonne was employed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer by Allison Funeral Services in Liberty, Texas, Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas and as Manager at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.  Yvonne is the daughter of the late Charlie Sr. and Guadalupe Adams Cantu. Yvonne and husband, Lee, have two daughters, Autumn Moran and Brittany Hickel.

    Resthaven Funeral Home specializes in personal and dignified funeral services, offers a large selection of monuments and accepts pre-paid funeral arrangements made at other funeral homes.  Resthaven Funeral Home’s state-of-the-art facility assures your loved one’s final memory will be personal, memorable and lasting.  Look for future Resthaven Chapels in neighboring Odem and Taft.

Pearland – Angel Irineo Bautista, 70, passed away January 23, 2015. He was born on January 4, 1945 in Mexico to the union of Lauriano Bautista Aguilar and Asuncio Irineo Martinez. He was a resident of Pearland, Texas for 40 years and formerly Mexico. Angel was a retired water well driller for more than 37 years formerly employed with O’Day Drilling.

2015002_1.jpgRockport – V. Jean Benjamin Lombard, 85, was called home by God (and most likely her husband Frank, who Jean said would always come get her) on January 21, 2015 in Rockport, Texas. One of eleven children, Jean was born on December 3, 1929 to Harvey and Elsie (Parker) Benjamin. Jean was a resident of Rockport, Texas for two years and formerly of Rice Lake, WI. Jean met the love of her life at the age of 16. After a three year courtship, she married Frank A. Lombard at age 19. She loved listening to country music (Gene Autry was one of her favorites), reading, cooking, laughing, being with her family, traveling with friends, and eating anything she wanted. Jean touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, not to mention her Italian cooking and baked goodies every Christmas. She maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
